Storypark

Moreland Community Child Care Centres Inc. (MCCCC) encourages and values engagement between parents, educators and staff.

We do this through various means: formal and informal conversations, parent information evenings, our Facebook page and website, visual diaries and communication boards in the children’s rooms, regular newsletters and emails, the provision of end-of-year portfolios as well as regular meetings for parents and educators of children in kinder to discuss school readiness and transitioning into Prep.

MCCCC trialled an innovative initiative in late 2015 that would further enhance how we communicate with families. Storypark is a secure online network where educators post stories, photos and videos of children participating in their various day-to-day activities.

Parents and carers can login anytime to view their child’s profile, as well as share their own comments.

Storypark captures children’s learning and development and showcases their play, environment, interests, abilities and achievements.

The sharing of learning through words, images, video and audio, allows families to more actively participate in their children’s expression through song, dance and culture—something that hasn’t been possible with paper portfolios.

The trial was a great success and Storypark has now been rolled out across all three MCCCC centres.

Families own their child’s content and will be able to access their Storypark profile even after leaving our service.

Storypark is a wonderful way to memorialise these very special and unique pre-school years.

Our Happy Families

Both of my daughters have attended Mitchell Street and loved it there. When my second daughter started, the family grouping allowed my older daughter to be with her as she was adjusting to the new space. It was good peace of mind to know that they had each other during the day whilst I was working.
